If anybody has any doubts that Brian Flores is an idiot, then look no further than his latest move! Brian Flores files racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL, the Miami Dolphins, Denver Bronco’s and New York Giants and every other NFL teams… that passed him up in this latest hiring cycle and his being terminated in Miami (rightfully so!) He is trying to take on the role of some martyr who is taking on the NFL for its systemic racism.
Brian Flores’ Statement
“God has gifted me with a special talent to coach the game of football, but the need for change is bigger than my personal goals. In making the decision to file the class action complaint, I understand that I may be risking coaching the game I love and has done so much for my family and me. My sincere hope is that by standing up against systemic racism in the NFL, others will join me to ensure that positive change is made for generations to come.”
Yes, there is systemic racism not only in the NFL but in every corner of this world, it is a product of our imperfection that only God will solve in his due time.
Why Brian Flores is wrong
First, he just was fired as one of the few Black Coaches that was given the privilege to coach one of 32 NFL teams for the past 3 seasons. Agree or disagree on his firing the fact is that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has been one of the few NFL owners who has been practicing diversity in his organization, in fact before he blew his job by being the jerk he is (Jerks come in all colors of the rainbow) Brian Flores was part of the only team in the NFL that had a Black Head Coach and Black GM!
Not only did Miami have a Black head coach and GM but even in their upper management two prominent Black Men are part of the management team Reggie McKenzie and Marvin Allen (See The Men Behind The Miami Dolphins Rebuild)
Brian Flores had his chance and screwed it up! Now he is trying to use racism as an excuse as to why he was passed up in this resent cycle of coaching hires BEFORE all the vacancies were filled. Here is the truth, he knew that his bad conduct in Miami was going to prevent him from getting a job this year and instead of humbling himself and going back into the coaching ranks as a top-rated DC he is trying to get paid off the back of racism.
Josh McDaniel’s, another former Belichick disciple who was just hired by the Raiders said this after spending the last 10 years back in New England as their OC after being fired by Denver for the same reason Brian Flores was terminated in Mimi… said this “I failed in Denver because I didn’t know how to work with people” sound familiar?
Driving The Bus
Who was driving that bus?
Brian Flores names Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and Patriots HC/GM Bill Belichick Bill as well as every NFL Team as part of his case.
He specifically calls out his former HC by using his text that he inadvertently thought he was sending to Brian Daboll when he got wind that the Giants were going to name Brian Daboll before they even interviewed Flores for the Job.
Three days before Flores interviewed for the job, which went to Brian Daboll, Belichick is alleged to have texted him to say Daboll, the Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator, had already gotten the job, according to Flores’ complaint in the Southern District of New York...
“Sorry … I double checked and misread the text. I think they are naming Brian Daboll. I’m sorry about that. BB,” Belichick texted Flores, according to the lawsuit.
He also is claiming that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross basically tried to bribe him to just lose games in 2019 with the hopes of getting the number 1 pick in that draft, instead Brian won meaningless games that prevented the team from getting the number 1 pick and really is the main reason he lost his job because he ended up with Tua instead of Joe Burrow….hell I would have been a few 100 thousand dollars richer if that were me and still would have had my job and been in the Superbowl this year…. 🙂
Seriously it might be the biggest blow in his lawsuit as that will be investigated and the Dolphins will most likely be fined but the claims that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will be forced to sell the team is a little premature, if anything he will be suspended and fined if the accusations are true.
In Flores Lawsuit Against Dolphins Owner
“In January 2022, Mr. Flores, who spent three years as the Head Coach of Defendant Miami Dolphins, Ltd. (the “Dolphins” or “Miami”), found himself without a job. He was fired by the Dolphins after leading the team to its first back-to-back winning seasons since 2003. The purported basis for his termination was alleged poor collaboration. In reality, the writing had been on the wall since Mr. Flores’ first season as Head Coach of the Dolphins, when he refused his owner’s directive to “tank” for the first pick in the draft. Indeed, during the 2019 season, Miami’s owner, Stephen Ross, told Mr. Flores that he would pay him $100,000 for every loss, and the team’s General Manager, Chris Grier, told Mr. Flores that “Steve” was “mad” that Mr. Flores’ success in winning games that year was “compromising [the team’s] draft position.”
All Brian Flores actions will do is set back the hiring of black coaches for fear they too will file some frivolous lawsuit should they be fired. (For Due Cause) So, Flores, who is trying to be some martyr for the black cause is just going to end up like another former Belichick disciple who ratted out Bill Belichick his former HC, remember Eric Mangeni?
UPDATE
The Battle Begins:
From The NFL:
“The NFL and our clubs are deeply committed to ensuring equitable employment practices and continue to make progress in providing equitable opportunities throughout our organizations. Diversity is core to everything we do, and there are few issues on which our clubs and our internal leadership team spend more time. We will defend against these claims, which are without merit.”
Broncos statement: “The allegations from Brian Flores directed toward the Broncos in today’s court filing are blatantly false. Our interview with Mr. Flores regarding our head coaching position began promptly at the scheduled time of 7:30 am on Jan. 5, 2019, in a Providence, R.I., hotel. There were 5 Broncos executives present for the interview, which lasted approximately 3 1/2 hours—the fully allotted time—and concluded shortly before 11 am. Pages of detailed notes, analysis and evaluations from our interview demonstrate the depth of our conversation and sincere interest in Mr. Flores as a head coaching candidate. Our process was thorough and fair to determine the most qualified candidate for our head coaching position. The Broncos will vigorously defend the integrity and values of our organization—and its employees—from such baseless and disparaging claims.”
Dolphins statement: “We are aware of the lawsuit through the media reports that came out this afternoon. We vehemently deny any allegations of racial discrimination and are proud of the diversity and inclusion throughout our organization. The implication that we acted in a manner inconsistent with the integrity of the game is incorrect. We will be withholding further comment on the lawsuit at this time.”
Giants statement: “We are pleased and confident with the process that resulted in the hiring of Brian Daboll. We interviewed an impressive and diverse group of candidates. The fact of the matter is, Brian Flores was in the conversation to be our head coach until the eleventh hour. Ultimately, we hired the individual we felt was most qualified to be our next head coach.”DATE
Get you Popcorn ready!!!
ONLY IN MIAMI LOL
Not only that but wasn’t he with New England throughout all the scandals there?
If flo knew what was going on why did he wait 3 yrs to say something. Doesn’t that make him liable as well. He didn’t have a problem with it while he was HC. Sounds like sour grapes
You’ve nailed this situation…… what’s next….. will there be lawsuits of anti Semitic claims from a coach who’s last name ends in Burg, or Stein?
