I want to caution you Dolphins fans who think this will be a slam dunk win for Miami. I just hope they win even if by 1 point but the Jets have won against some good teams and I am not sure it was because those teams underestimated the Jets or that the Jets in year one of their rebuild are good enough to beat any team as the saying goes “Any Given Sunday”.
Miami has no reason to be overconfident as they are 3-7 just a half a game up on the Jets who are 2-7 the current cellar dwellers. For the Jets it was expected that this season would be a down season as they get their plans for the future together but for Miami 2021 has been a huge disappointment.
This is a division rival and everything goes out the window when playing division rivals. So, Miami better carry some momentum from last Thursday’s surprising upset of the Ravens.
Tua came in for an injured/terrible Jacoby Brissett and was able to move the offense while Miami’s defense played their best game of the season. They played so well that the Jets Head Coach has decided to start veteran QB Joe Flacco because he knows Miami’s defense is too complicated for his young QB’s to handle.

Miami’s matchup: on Offense
The Dolphins offense has two distinct personalities and neither are great but one is plain pathetic! When Jacoby Brissett is in at QB this offense is the worst offense in the league, Brissett is jut horrific and hopefully Tua can stay healthy and play out the rest of the season.
When Tua is in, the offense seems to be getting some stride and Tua is starting to show signs of growth, had it not been due to his injuries he just might be that much further ahead.
Miami’s biggest weakness is the offensive line though they have maintained some consistency along the line and the changes made a few weeks back seems to be working well for them and now they hopefully can gel and start to play as a cohesive unit. Remember this is an incredibly young offensive line so it is just going to take time.
Miami made a huge mistake these past two years passing up on two RB’s that are top 5 RBs in the NFL Jonathan Taylor in 2020 & Najee Harris in 2021 both backs could have been helpful for a young offense and now the Dolphins have activated veteran RB Duke Johnson from the practice squad to help our struggling running game.
Miami’s matchup: on Defense
The Dolphins defense for the last three weeks have gotten their swag back and they played lights out vs the Ravens a top AFC team that came to Miami with a 6-2 record and limped out of Miami 6-4, it was a shock to everyone but we all knew the Dolphins defense has the potential to be one of the best and if they continue their current pace, they can help Miami extend their win streak to 3 games in a row.
The Strategy:
Miami need not take the Jets lightly because they are no better than the Jets (Record wise) but if both teams played to their potential the Dolphins are the better team this year and should win. I will not say it will be easy and they could lose just ask the Titans and Bengals both of who could beat Miami. So, it is important that this team starts strong and complete this game with a win as Miami strangely enough is not 100% dead for a playoff berth. They have no room for error though.
My Take:
I see this as a close game one that can go either way the only way Miami wins if their defense plays lights out, the offense contributes and special teams make plays. Turnovers can cost Miami the game as well as starting slow. If they do not beat themselves Miami will come away with a win.
Prediction
Miami 27, Jets 24
