After a blockbuster trade last week some might wonder what the Dolphins draft status is going into next month’s draft.
Well, the good news is Miami still have 4 of the top 50 picks in the 2021 NFL draft and they gained a 5th round pick but also surrendered a 4th round pick. In total Miami currently have 8 picks in the 2021 draft
- Two first round picks #6 & # 18
- Two second round picks # 36 & # 50
- One third round pick # 81
- Zero 4th round picks
- One 5th Round pick # 156
- Zero 6th round picks
- Two 7th round picks # 231 & # 258
So, after a blockbuster trade deal involving 3 Teams (Miami, San Francisco & Philadelphia) basically Miami moved down 3 spots from 3 to 6 and swapped their 4th round pick for a 5th round pick and also adding a future a 2022 third-round pick & A 2023 first-round pick.
Miami also by trading up with the Eagles is in perfect position to draft who they wanted sitting at three because it’s a great chance that 3-4 of the top picks will be QB’s and there are at least 4 non QB players considered top 10 picks that Miami might choose from and as I noted in my last article, they still could trade down from the #6 pick depending on how the draft board falls.

I must have Najee Harris and do not subscribe to the notion that the 18th pick is too high to draft a RB, I want that kid so much that I would take him at 6!
I too want Surtain I am hoping Miami will trade Xavien Howard to the Cowboys for their first-round pick and use that to get Surtain…
As much as I would like to see Surtain follow in his father’s footsteps, my gut is saying Pitts and Harris it 6 and 18.. I don’t think Surtain will be there at 36.
