“Here’s The Beef!”

Dolphins agree to terms with rookie DL Raekwon Davis

(Rookie Raekwon Davis HT/WT: 6′ 7″ / 312 lbs)

One of the most famous Wend’s commercials of all time ask the question I have been asking about our Dolphins for quite some time “Where’s the Beef” as this team since they hired Joe Philbin in 2012 has been lacking BEEF! I’m talking Grade A Angus BEEF!

After the 2020 NFL free agency & draft we have the answer, it’s on our roster as Miami loaded up this off-season in free agency and the draft on bigger players who will not be pushed around or bullied like that have been these past few years against the more physical teams in the NFL one of which is in our division and have swept Miami there last three meetings the Buffalo Bills.

The last time I checked the Dolphins Roster over 70 players on the current roster is over 6′ tall, this team is HUGE!

Miami spent year two of their rebuild stocking up on both sides of the line as they signed

  • Austin Jackson OT, USC (6′ 5″, 322 pounds)
  • C Ted Karras (6′ 4″, 305 pounds)
  • G  Solomon Kindley (6′ 3″, 337 pounds)
  • OG/OT Ereck Flowers (6′ 6″, 330 pounds)
  • DT  Raekwon Davis (6′ 7″, 311 pounds)
  • DE Emmanuel Ogbah (6′ 4″, 275 pounds)
  • DE Jason Strowbridge North Carolina (6′ 4″, 275 pounds)
  • DE Curtis Weaver Boise State (6′ 2″, 265 pounds)
  • DE Shaq Lawson (6′ 3″, 267 pounds)
  • ILB Kyle Van Noy (6′ 3″, 250 pounds)
  • OLB Kamu Grugier-Hill (6′ 2″, 230 pounds)

*Names in Green are rookies

From the Biggest, massive rookie DT  Raekwon Davis (6′ 7″, 311 pounds) to OLB Kamu Grugier-Hill (6′ 2″, 230 pounds) miami added both talent and youth to a roster in desperate need of an upgrade and boy did they upgrade!

So the Dolphins will no longer be a finesse team and went full-blow power team! It will take this year for them to gel as a team and I expect the Dolphins to have a similar start to the 2020 season losing some early games until they hit their stride halfway through the season.

Some have higher expectations for our Dolphins and that is OK too. It just makes you feel good either way because we can actually see where this team is going and the plan come to fruition.

I’ll just keep my expectations at a minimum because it is just year two of the rebuild and with possibly half the team being rookie players or 1-2 year veterans  the Dolphins will still most likely end up being one of the youngest teams in the NFL.

This time though they are packing some serious beef and i can’t wait for what will be years of clashing with the other “Titans in the NFL” as this huge team works their way atop the AFC East!
