The last day of the draft produces players that make up over 60% of the rosters in the league as they are inexpensive and still have potential and quite a few pissed off players that feel they should have been taken earlier in the draft.
Many times it’s due to character issues or size/measurable’s or the small college’s where they played against lessor competition but some defect that had them drop to day 3. Special teams are there friend and most likely the key to moving up the depth chart on some team’s roster.
The Dolphins enter day 3 with a boatload of picks (9 total) that one would have thought they would have traded back into round 3 by trading up, they still have an opportunity to do so and move up in round 4 because the next pick they have is at the end of the 4th round, but they have two 4th round picks (136, 141) and three 5th round picks (153, 154, 173) and a 6th round pick (185) and three 7th round picks (227, 246, 251) to work with.
