“Tank” You Miami!

Now that I have come to grips with the fact that we will be picking fifth in the NFL draft I want to officially thank coach Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins players for doing an excellent job in 2019.

Yes I know they ended up 5-11, but for a team that was expected to win no more than 3 games, that 5-11 record is better than all the mediocrity we’ve dealt with this past decade.

Despite harsh criticism and false accusations based off of a narrative drummed up by a local reporter that the Dolphins were tanking, Miami proved to be the surprise team of the 2019 season.

We are no longer dreaming on false hopes of a first year coach making it to the playoffs because the Dolphins finally decided to stop the madness that’s been plaguing us for the past decade.

Owner Steven Ross finally put the horse in front of the cart and cleaned up his act as well as his house and put Chris Grier fully in charge as the Dolphins GM and Chris Grier hired Brian Flores to coach the Dolphins.

Chris Grier despite some unfair criticism has done a phenomenal job since being given full control. He’s cleaned up the cap space, he’s purged the roster of players that they did not feel fit the system (both young and old) and he has this team primed to take advantage of free agency in the draft this year, with more resources than any other team in the NFL this will be the Miami Dolphins off-season.

Owner Steven Ross had this to say about Chris Grier…Chris has done a tremendous job putting us in a position to build the best roster we’ve had here in a long time. With 14 picks in this year’s draft including 5 picks in the top 60, and 4 picks in the top 60 next year, we expect to have an influx of young talent coming. He has also cleaned up our salary cap situation and we now have a lot of flexibility moving forward. So we have a lot of reasons to believe we’re going to continue to improve over the next two years.

After his first season as the Dolphins head coach many, including myself, are confident that we finally have the right coach. More importantly the owner of the Dolphins said this...”Brian has proven to be what we were looking for and I believe we found the right head coach. He is establishing an identity for this football team as a smart, tough, aggressive, disciplined team with players who play together and play for each other. He has high standards and holds people around him accountable and he is straightforward and consistent. I think we’ve gotten better as the season has gone on, so as long as we keep getting better, eventually we will get where we want to be.”

Whether you agree or disagree, like or dislike, GM Chris Grier or Brian Flores the fact is the person that matters most seems very pleased with what’s been going on with his team and that is truly all that matters.

I just happen to be in total agreement with owner Steven Ross and I’m looking forward to the new year and a new decade as the Dolphins continue with phase two of their rebuild.

Fins up!
