A Way Too Early Look At The 2020 Miami Dolphins NFL Draft!

feature-02

I Know, I Know it’s really borderline crazy and a reflection that I just might need to add a few more hobbies in my life but until I do why not indulge me in my fanatical obsession with the Dolphins and apparently yours too if you are reading this. 🙂

But here goes, I’m not wasting my time projecting where the Dolphins will end up drafting next year just yet but needless to say I am not buying into the “Tank For Tua” narrative falsely  generated by an extremely annoying  Miami Herald reporter and a few bloggers that take their words way to serious.

I do not feel the Dolphins will be drafting number 1 next year nor looking for a QB in the 2020 NFL draft. The draft for Miami will continue to focus on building a dominant defense by filling a glaring need to be addressed on the defensive line as well as LB position and even the back end of the defense with the CB/DB and S positions.

So I put together a list of projected players on defense that might be available in the draft and drafted early in the first two rounds and here they are:

 A.J. Epenesa, DE/OLB, Iowa
A.J. Terrell, DB, Clemson
 Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State
Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia
C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida
Curtis Weaver, DE/OLB, Boise State
David Reese, LB, Florida
Derrick Brown, DE/DT, Auburn
Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama
Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Isaiah Simmons, S, Clemson
Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU
Jalen Thompson, S, Washington State
Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Julian Okwara, DE/OLB, Notre Dame
K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU
Kenny Willekes, DE, Michigan State
Khaleke Hudson, S, Michigan
Khalid Kareem, DE, Notre Dame
Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Marlon Davidson, DE, Auburn
Nick Coe, DE/DT, Auburn
Paddy Fisher, LB, Northwestern
Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama
Shyheim Carter, CB, Alabama
Terrell Lewis, DE/OLB, Alabama
Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Troy Dye, LB, Oregon
Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama
Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
Youhanna Ghaifan, DE/DT, Wyoming

As of now the Dolphins lack adequate help at the DE edge rush side of the defense on both sides. Hopefully somehow they will get something out of a so far non productive Charles Harris because to me he’s been a MAJOR disappointment to date but I will  give him somewhat of a pass because of the poor decision to have Matt Burke run Miami’s defense by former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

The Good news is Miami have already stockpiled extra picks and will also get at least two comp picks next year leaving them with 12-13 picks so far for the 2020 draft.

The list is in alphabetical order and not by ranking for now. I think I have enough time before the 2020 draft to refine things….enjoy.
