Continuity is the key to this team taking the next step along with more offensive weapons as well as help in the pass rush and the CB position….Miami’s done a good job so far in the free agent market adding some weapons as well as maintaining the youthful vigor of this team and dumping some veteran players who did not prove to be difference makers over the past few seasons of 7-9 and sub par records.
Keeping our coaching staff together with very few departures is a good sign from my point of view it shows they get along well and with another year together they will be that much more improved hopefully.
7-9 was not a bad thing when you review the season and realize that they played well enough minus a bad break or two to win 10-11 games. Better play calling here or someone making a play on either side of the ball there and Miami would have made the playoffs last year but to what end?
Honestly making the playoffs would not have served this team well because they really were not good enough to go all the way and most likely would have been bounced out right away.
Last season the Dolphins had the second youngest team in the league and started our rookie QB Tannehill all 16 games for the first time in franchise history. Tannehill did not disappoint he led Miami to a better than expected 7-9 record. He completed 282-of-484 passes for 3,294 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for a 76.1 passer rating and he looks to be the real deal. Just as I strongly suggested last year that he should start day one to have a good 2nd year as he’s been given plenty of ammo.
I can honestly say the Dolphins stock is on the rise and soon many folks will be jumping on the band wagon again of a winning franchise….
That’s ok, because when they do start to win even us long-suffering diehard fans will also have the satisfaction of seeing this team gain its respect back. And it’s all about the management in place you all know how I feel about Jeff but I will also say Jeff would not be able to get the due respect if Miami did not have the right HC in place and trust me Philbin is that guy!
So as we embark on this journey of hard-earned respect and as this team starts to turn heads on the field rest assure fellow Dol-fans that this is not some mirage but it is actually finally having in place everything it takes to win in the NFL good ownership/ management and players……….I think the Dolphins finally have it right! So there is due cause for the enthusiasm surrounding this team and I for one CAN”T WAIT!!! (Bart Scott)
It’s time to buy into what the Dolphins are selling…
